Anne's Parents and brother, Jordan, traveled for this event.

Anne was baptized at Christmas, too. We have a picture
of her next to the nativity, just like this one of Ivan.

This is the view as you stand at the baptismal font
at St. James of the Valley Catholic Church.

More New Friends

Ivan has been meeting more and more of his parents' friends.

Christine Brausch ~ Tom works with her husband. Chuck Knippen ~ Anne used to work with him at Monster.
Kristi Bosco ~ Tom works with her husband. Boscos should be having their baby any day now, if they haven't already!!

Paula Kluck ~ Anne became friends with her when Paula was her main contact at JHL Mail Marketing, which is a vendor for Monster. Paula came all the way from Wisconsin to meet Ivan!
Shari Prestanski ~ Anne's dear friend who moved to Nashville a couple of years ago. She grew up in Cincinnati, and she made a point to come see Ivan over Christmas vacation. Plus she took extra time out from visiting her family in order to attended his baptism.
Doug Haber ~ Ok, he isn't a "new" friend, per se, but he lives in Boston, and he is rarely back in Cincinnati. Plus, the picture was WAY TOO CUTE not to be included!!

Fun Pictures

Ok, so here are some of the fun pictures that we promised. Turns out there are quite a few to share, so we will do so over a couple postings. :)

Ivan has found his hands! He is trying to suck his thumb, we think, and in the process he has provided us with plenty of entertainment.

Sorry buddy, that's your fist.
Oh, so close!

Ivan has also started rolling himself up into a ball and often this makes him roll to one side or the other. This surprised us a couple weeks ago. Tom had taken Ivan downstairs in the morning and put Ivan down on his blankets on the floor. Anne shortly followed, and she found Ivan on his side.

Anne: "Tom, did you lay Ivan down on the floor on his side?"

Tom: "NO!" (Running into the living room from the kitchen to see.)

Anne & Tom: "Oh boy! Are we really ready for him to be mobile already?!?!?"

Life Happens

Well, we were on a really good roll with posting to the blog, and then as they say "life happened". We found out on Tuesday (12/11/07) at a doctor's appointment for Anne that she would need to have surgery the following Monday (12/17/07). So, you will have to forgive us for tending to other matters instead of updating the blog, especially since we were going to use this week to get ready for the baptism and Christmas.

The
surgery went very well. Turns out that Anne had a herniated umbilicus (belly button region), and now she is on the mend. The biggest inconvenience is that she can't lift anything over 15 lbs for the next 6 weeks. So, here's hoping Ivan doesn't gain the next 5 lbs too fast!

(To
make up for lost time, the next post will be a bunch of pictures from the last two weeks.)

Two Months and ??? Pictures

The picture counter started over in our camera, so let's just say we have a lot MORE pictures since the one month mark!!

Ivan is two months old today. On Friday we went to the Pediatrician's for his two month check-up, and our little boy is GROWING fast! He is now 11 lbs and 1 oz, 23 1/8 inches long. That means he has gained 5 lbs and 5 inches since birth. Below are his pictures from today.

What is really fun to do is to compare these to the pictures from the "One Month . . ." posting.

Baby's first Christmas tree

We picked out our live Christmas tree today! It's the one to the right of Tom and Ivan in the picture above. We get a live tree and then plant it in our back yard after Christmas.

Video! Ivan finds his hand

Here is what I'm saying during this video:

Now Ivan has started chewing on his hand . . . still trying to get down exactly where his hand goes, I guess. Tom said that he sucked on his thumb earlier this morning, but I haven't seen that, yet. This is about as close as we are gonna get, I think.

(PS ~ He had the hiccups while we recorded this.)

Ivan meets more family members

This is the second batch of pictures where Ivan is meeting his family members for the first time. Most of them are from our Thanksgiving trip to South Dakota to see Anne's family, except the first picture. The first one is Tom's sister, Karen, and her husband Nick at our niece's birthday party which was held at their house.

Uncle Nick and Aunt Karen Petricoff

Aunt Kristen Eggers, who will also be Ivan's Godmother

There are four generations in this photo!

Anne's Granddad ~ Howard Eggers

Anne's Grandmom ~ Pauline Eggers

Anne's Uncle Bud Eggers

Cousin Philip Eggers and below is his wife Jen

Cousin Josh Eggers with his wife Mindy

Cousin Rebekah Scott and her son Gus and husband Nick
*Gus is 11 months old! Will Ivan really be that big so quickly??

Anne's Aunt Peggy Eggers

Rachel and Scott Mark, who aren't technically family, but close enough!
